It’s Been a Loooong Time. How Have You Been? You Murderer.

Well hello travellers, it’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve been a little busy as of late and major changes have occurred. First off I would like to say congratulations to my sister and her partner for bringing my nephew Andrew into this world.

He’s so cute just look at him :P

With that said and done, it’s time for my MAJOR update (Yes, there was a need for caps). I Danny ‘Pancakez’ A’Barrow have realised how hard it is going to be for my whole venture into graphic design to happen SO… although i will still be creative in my spare time I will not be advertising myself as freelance. If someone where to maybe take a liking to my work one day and offer me something then I’m all for it so this blog will now be just about me and my everyday adventures ^_^

NOW! onto the creativeness.

Brian O’Malley is an inspiration of mine for his artwork alone. He made me really want to make my own comic. I’ve had ideas for years but never had the means to go about it, that is until just recently with the purchase of my graphics tab SMILEY FACE!!! I’ll go more into depth in another post but what I wanted to do is pretty much fan art but not Scott Pilgrim. I wanted to pay tribute to O’Malley himself and his style so went about creating all my friends in O’Malley style drawings with a little pancakez twist. Check them out below.

I went for the style of the movie poster for Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

All there looks and style were based on their real life characters.

My First Tab Drawings

It’s pretty self explanatory in the title but yeah, I finished two pieces on Photoshop using my new graphics tablet. I wanted to do something to closest to my actual drawing style seeing as drawing digitally is a hell of a lot different than on paper so I went for a basic sketch of the WWE’s CM Punk (My Favourite Wrestler).

cmpunk At the moment my lines are still very sketchy, at least until i get the hang of it using the tab properly. After doing this I was on a bit of a roll so I went and don another picture which took several hours of back and forth between Manga Studio 4 and Photoshop.

For my next one I wanted to create something more character like so I opted for TNA’s Jeff Hardy. Jeff was a more colourful guy and was a lot of fun to draw.

So there you have it folks. There will be plenty more in the works and posted on here and my Facebook page for you to check out. Feel free to rate and give feedback on any of my posts and images.

Until next time…Peace

Tablet Goodness

So yeah, haven’t had much time to blog lately due to the arrival of my brand new graphics tablet. BEHOLD….
17012011832
So I have to say, it’s my first time using one and I have to say it’s nothing like pen and paper at all. Been using it for a week now and I’m still getting used to it. Here’s what I've managed so far:
quick
This is Victoria, a character i created for an upcoming project I’m working on. As you can see its just a sketch but in time it’ll be coloured and inked (via Photoshop).
But anyway, just a quick blog today but I’ll be back soon with a finished piece.

Still Alive ^_^

So ladies and gents, 2010 is done and dusted. With that said let us hope 2011 is much better to me. This year is going to have some awesome times, my birthday for example, my year anniversary of me and my Clefairy ^_^ but now that we’re into the new year its time I looked to the future…my future in fact. As you read before, I’m going into freelance graphic design and I’m setting up a portfolio for all my work over the next year. I will be showing off  my drafts and final designs for projects that I have ongoing. (Not that I’m a show off but hey, I’m proud of my work! Big whoop, wanna fight about it?)

Anyway, onto some fun stuff…TATTOO’S!

Portal warnings

Fans of the awesome game Portal would surely recognise these beloved Aperture Science test facility warning signs. This is the theme I'm going with for my next tattoo. It’s took me ages to find a companion cube I like and Ta-Daaaaaaa, we have a winner. But why stop there? I’m going for the whole Portal icons as a possible back tattoo or a cool sleeve.

bai – bai (Japanese bye bye)
